Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Drainage Design Specialist to join our national teams across the UK, with roles based in Manchester and other locations. You will design drainage infrastructure for highways, rail, and development projects, deliver BIM-integrated solutions, and mentor junior engineers within a collaborative, remote-capable environment.

The role emphasizes technical excellence in SUDS, hydraulic modelling, and client-facing delivery, supported by a strong portfolio across HS2, Highways

Qualifications

• Good understanding of Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems and current drainage legislation.
• Experience using drainage modelling software such as Causeway Flow.
• Mentoring and supporting the development of engineers, graduates and technicians.

Responsibilities

• Undertake drainage designs from concept to detailed design and construction.
• Prepare drainage strategies, calculations, reports and drawings.
• Develop hydraulic models using Causeway Flow.
• Support multidisciplinary infrastructure and development projects.
• Mentor and develop junior staff within the drainage team.
• Ensure compliance with quality, health, safety and environmental procedures.
