Job summary

Pearson Carter Limited is seeking a Senior DevOps / Systems Engineer for a fully remote role in the UK. The role focuses on supporting a production AWS environment, CDN and WAF infrastructure, and CI/CD pipelines used by development teams.

You will manage, monitor and improve a production AWS estate, design and maintain infrastructure with Terraform and Ansible, write WAF rules for Akamai and Cloudflare, and automate tasks with Python and Bash.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in a DevOps or Systems Administration role.
• Strong Linux administration in production environments.
• Solid AWS experience with EC2, load balancers and VPC.
• Experience with Nginx, Redis and OpenSearch/Elasticsearch.
• Proficient in Terraform, Ansible and CI/CD tooling.
• Automates using Python and Bash.

Responsibilities

• Manage, monitor and improve a production AWS estate.
• Design, maintain and improve infrastructure using Terraform and Ansible.
• Write and tune WAF rules across Akamai and Cloudflare.
• Support and improve CI/CD pipelines.
• Maintain infrastructure including nginx, Redis and OpenSearch/Elasticsearch.
• Monitor incidents with tools like CloudWatch, Zabbix and New Relic.
• Investigate incidents, determine root causes and coordinate with teams.
• Automate repetitive tasks using Python and Bash.
• Participate in rotating 24/7 on-call schedule.
