Job summary

Pearson Carter is supporting an established organisation in the United Kingdom, offering a fully remote DevOps Engineer role with an office in Scotland. You will own AWS infrastructure, automate with Terraform/Ansible, and drive CI/CD improvements while ensuring high availability and security of production systems.

The role expects 5+ years in similar spheres, strong Linux and AWS experience, and a proactive approach to capacity, resilience, and performance. UK-rights to work required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in Systems/DevOps or similar fields.
• Strong Linux production experience.
• AWS experience with EC2, VPCs, networking & load balancing.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage core AWS elements (EC2, VPC, load balancers).
• Administer production Linux systems for reliability and uptime.
• Manage apps and data tech (nginx, Apache, Redis, PostgreSQL, OpenSearch/Elasticsearch).
• Lead IaC with Terraform and Ansible.
• Improve CI/CD with Bitbucket Pipelines and related tooling.
• Monitor infrastructure with Zabbix, CloudWatch, Pingdom, New Relic.
• Lead incident investigations and implement long-term fixes.
• Participate in 24/7 on-call rotations.
