Job summary

Deliveroo is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to own and evolve our core infrastructure. You will manage Kubernetes clusters, cloud resources, and IaC tooling to support scale across engineering teams. Expect hands-on coding to build automation, plus design reviews and mentoring across teams.

You’ll work on secure, scalable AWS-based systems, build self-serve environments, and drive reliability and developer experience in a fast-moving, globally distributed environment.

Qualifications

• Experience owning complex technical initiatives end-to-end.
• Hands-on Kubernetes and container orchestration in production.
• Proficiency with AWS and cloud networking/cost management.
• Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform preferred) and automation frameworks.
• Software engineering skills in Go or Python for internal tooling.
• Knowledge of distributed systems and microservices patterns.
• Experience with CI/CD tooling and self-serve platforms.
• Ability to mentor engineers and drive best practices.

Responsibilities

• Own complex infra initiatives end-to-end across Kubernetes and cloud stack.
• Design, deploy, and operate secure, scalable AWS systems.
• Build self-service tooling and IaC to empower teams.
• Lead on-call rotations and drive incident investigations/fixes.
• Collaborate with multiple teams to align standards and roadmaps.
• Improve reliability, runbooks, and developer experience across infra.
