• Proven experience as a Design Manager in main contracting, ideally on residential or student accommodation projects.
• Background in managing design on complex, multi-million-pound developments.
• Good technical knowledge of construction methods, regulations, and industry standards.
• Excellent coordination, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
• Able to manage multiple design packages and deadlines simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the design process from tender through to completion.
• Coordinate consultants, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
• Ensure designs are compliant with planning, building regs, and client specifications.
• Identify risks, design clashes, and potential programme impacts early.
• Support value engineering and contribute to build-ability reviews.
• Work closely with project, commercial, and planning teams to align design and delivery.
