Job summary

VolkerFitzpatrick, part of VolkerWessels UK, is seeking a Senior Design Manager to lead and coordinate design activities across major water and wastewater infrastructure schemes in the East Anglia region. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, drive buildability, and ensure delivery from concept through to project completion.

As part of our growth within the Water sector, we will be delivering major water infrastructure projects across the East Anglia region. As such we have an exciting opportunity for a collaborative and commercially aware Senior Design Manager who thrives in a complex project environment and enjoys working with multidisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional outcomes

As Senior Design Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in leading and coordinating all design activities across significant water and wastewater infrastructure schemes.

This role offers the opportunity to influence major projects from concept through to delivery, helping shape the future of water infrastructure across the region.

About you

• Extensive experience within civil engineering, infrastructure or water sector projects.
• A strong background in Design Management on major projects.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary design teams and external consultants.
• Excellent understanding of buildability, design coordination and project delivery.
• Strong programme management and stakeholder engagement skills.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and value engineering.
• Excellent communication and leadership capabilities.
• Degree-level qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Chartered status (CEng, MICE or equivalent) or working towards professional accreditation.
