Job summary

VolkerFitzpatrick, part of VolkerWessels UK, is seeking a Senior Design Manager to lead and coordinate all design activities on major water and wastewater infrastructure schemes in the East Anglia region.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external consultants, drive buildability and value engineering, and ensure delivery from concept through to handover, leveraging your Chartered status and civil engineering experience.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in civil engineering, infrastructure or water sector projects.
• Strong background in Design Management on major projects.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary design teams and external consultants.
• Excellent understanding of buildability, design coordination and project delivery.
• Strong programme management and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Proactive approach to problem-solving and value engineering.
• Excellent communication and leadership capabilities.
• Degree-level qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Chartered status (CEng, MICE or equivalent) or working towards professional accreditation.
