Job Opportunity: Senior Design Manager - Water Sector

Our client is seeking a Senior Design Manager to join their engineering team at the Falmer office near Brighton, with hybrid working options available.

Role Responsibilities:

1. Lead projects through design phases, ensuring cost-effective, compliant, and buildable solutions.
2. Ensure health & safety standards are met and hazards are managed.
3. Manage the design team and coordinate all design activities.
4. Control expenditure and ensure timely delivery of design outputs.
5. Document design processes and report on progress regularly.
6. Participate in project meetings and contribute technical expertise.
7. Deliver solutions that outperform on costs while maintaining quality and schedule.
8. Provide technical support during construction, assembly, and commissioning.
9. Adhere to standards and quality assurance protocols.
10. Contribute to sustainability goals, especially reducing carbon footprints.
11. Collaborate effectively with partners and stakeholders.
12. Maintain professional representation of the company and foster positive relationships.
13. Uphold confidentiality and maintain a professional image.

Experience and Qualifications:

• Extensive experience in multi-disciplinary design management within a design-build environment.
• Background in Water/Wastewater Treatment Industry.
• Degree in engineering and Chartered Engineer status.
• Proven ability to lead teams and manage projects to scope, time, and budget.
• Knowledge of CDM regulations and health & safety standards.
• Strong technical, strategic, and management skills.
• Understanding of water treatment processes and related engineering disciplines.
• Excellent communication skills for technical proposals.
• Possession or pursuit of APM Project Management Qualification.
• Familiarity with BIM procedures is advantageous.
