Senior Design Manager – Water
Location: Falmer (near Brighton) | Hybrid Working

We’re looking for a Senior Design Manager to lead the design delivery of major water infrastructure projects. Based near Brighton, this hybrid role offers the chance to work on high-profile schemes in a collaborative, forward-thinking team.
You’ll oversee the design phase of multiple water projects — ensuring innovative, technically sound, and cost-effective solutions are delivered to time and budget. This is a hands-on leadership role, focused on driving quality, efficiency, and health & safety throughout the design process.
Lead multidisciplinary design teams across multiple water projects
Deliver solutions that are technically robust, buildable, and commercially smart
Ensure designs meet stakeholder needs, programme expectations, and CDM/H&S standards
Support construction and commissioning phases with expert guidance
Manage budgets, timelines, and resources effectively
Promote sustainability, innovation, and continuous improvement
Collaborate with internal teams, client representatives, and external partners
Degree-qualified in an engineering discipline
Chartered Engineer (or equivalent experience)
Extensive design management experience in a design & build environment
Strong leadership and team coordination skills
Solid understanding of water/wastewater treatment processes (civil, process, MEICA)
Working knowledge of CDM regulations and construction safety
APM qualification (or working towards)
Experience working with remote or multi-location teams
BIM knowledge and digital design tools familiarity
Previous experience in large-scale water projects or global organisations
