Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to lead the design and development of electric actuation systems for aerospace nacelles at our Wolverhampton facility. You will oversee concept through production, deliver robust, lightweight solutions, and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.

The role requires a mechanical engineering degree, CATIA and Teamcenter experience, and strong communication within multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in a design engineering environment.
• Strong understanding of machine design and electro-mechanical product development.
• Experience across the product lifecycle.
• Proven problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Experience with CATIA CAD software.
• Experience with Teamcenter PLM systems.
• Experience with qualification and certification programmes.
• Knowledge of aerospace actuation systems and aircraft equipment design.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Generate innovative design concepts for electro-mechanical actuation systems.
• Support all lifecycle stages from concept to qualification.
• Lead and collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Produce manufacturing data packages, drawings, tolerances.
• Support system integration and customer engagements.
• Deliver design reviews and technical presentations.
• Mentor junior engineers and graduates.
