Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Wolverhampton is seeking a qualified engineer to lead the ASG electric thrust reverser actuation centre of excellence. You will oversee the full product lifecycle from concept to in-service support, shaping next-generation actuation technology.

Based in our new facility, the role requires collaboration across multidisciplinary teams, up to 20% international travel, and delivering robust, certifiable solutions for demanding aerospace applications.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• Experience in aerospace or electro-mechanical system design.
• Understanding aerospace actuation systems.
• Experience in multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience supporting investigations and engineering issue resolution.
• Ability to produce clear technical documentation.
• Knowledge of engineering principles and design processes.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a structured engineering environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to engineering quality.

Responsibilities

• Develop aerospace actuation systems as part of a team.
• Provide technical input across work packages.
• Support system design through full lifecycle from requirements to production.
• Contribute to system trade studies and technical assessments.
• Support engineering planning with leads.
• Participate in design reviews and technical discussions.
• Develop robust and innovative engineering solutions.
• Support investigations and root cause analysis.
• Capture lessons learned and drive continuous improvement.
• Assist in customer and supplier technical discussions.
• Contribute to engineering tools, methods, and future capability.
• Prepare technical documentation and outputs.
• Share knowledge and mentor junior engineers.
