Job summary

Murphy is recruiting for Senior Design Coordinators to work within our Energy sector on National Grid projects. Our business is known for in‑house expertise, innovation, and delivering EPC design, construction and commissioning services across regulated and private customers.

You will review submissions, lead design on small to medium projects, coordinate internal and external design teams, and ensure BIM/CDE systems are properly used.

Qualifications

• HNC/HND in civil engineering, construction or similar.
• Professional affiliated membership or progression towards
• Engineering Design Experience in Power T&D, renewables, or multidisciplinary EPC projects
• Exposure to Design management/coordination and construction experience
• Experience of Autodesk suite including AutoCAD, Revit and Navisworks.
• Digitally familiar with BIM and CDEs and document control systems and processes

Responsibilities

• Review submissions for quality and sufficiency.
• Lead design engineering matters on small/medium sized projects as directed.
• Coordinate design by internal designers, consultants, suppliers and interface contractors.
• Ensure Aconex (or client approved CDE system) is adequately setup and used correctly.
• Monitor, track and report on design progress against the project programme.
• Oversee constructability and permanent works considerations for Temporary Works.
• Review design progress and detail using CAD/BIM tools.
• Monitor and report on Design NCRs and close out.
• Liaise with Surveyors, Buyers, Contract Managers, Project Managers, Site Managers and Estimators to engender a team approach for each project.
