Job summary

Murphy is recruiting for a Senior Design Coordinator to work with Energy on the National Grid HWUP Project. The role leads design engineering matters, coordinates internal designers and interface contractors, and ensures BIM/CDE processes are applied effectively.

You will monitor design progress against the project programme, review CAD/BIM outputs, manage NCRs, and liaise with surveyors, buyers, contract managers and site managers to foster a collaborative, constructible approach.

Qualifications

• HNC/HND in civil engineering, construction or similar.
• Membership of Engineering Institution or progression towards it.
• Experience producing engineering designs in Power & D&D or EPC projects.
• Exposure to design management/coordination and construction.
• Experience with Autodesk suite (AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks) and BIM/CDEs.

Responsibilities

• Review submissions for quality and sufficiency as directed.
• Lead design engineering matters on small/medium projects.
• Coordinate design by internal designers, consultants, suppliers and interface contractors.
• Ensure Aconex or client CDE system is properly used by all parties.
• Monitor design progress against the project programme.
• Oversee constructability and temporary works considerations.
• Review design progress and detail using CAD/BIM tools.
• Monitor and report Design NCRs and closeouts.
• Liaise with Surveyors, Buyers, Contract Managers, Project Managers, Site Managers and Estimators to foster teamwork.
