Job summary
Murphy is recruiting for a Design Coordinator to work with the Energy Team on National Grid's Electricity Transmission Project based out of our Cardiff office with travel to sites. The role involves leading design coordination, CAD/BIM management, and liaising with designers, contractors and site teams.
The successful candidate will have HNC/HND in civil engineering or related field, experience with Autodesk CAD/BIM tools, and a strong understanding of CDE/document control processes.
Qualifications
- Exposure to design management and coordination on client projects.
- Experience with design deliverables, coordination meetings and documentation control.
- Familiarity with CAD/BIM processes and CDE systems.
Responsibilities
- Review submissions for quality and sufficiency as directed.
- Lead design engineering on small/medium projects as directed.
- Coordinate design with internal designers, consultants, suppliers and interface contractors.
- Ensure Aconex or client CDE is properly set up and used by all stakeholders.
- Monitor design progress against the project programme.
- Oversee constructability and temporary works considerations.
- Review design progress using CAD/BIM tools and report NCRs.
- Liaise with Surveyors, Buyers, PMs, Site Managers and Estimators to foster teamwork.
