Job summary

Stantec in the UK is seeking a DCO Planner at Senior, Principal or Associate level to join the Infrastructure team. The role can be based from any UK office and offers a pathway to lead major projects across water, energy and transport.

You will coordinate planning and consenting workstreams, provide EIA and strategy input, and work with clients and multidisciplinary teams to shape deliverable programmes. The team emphasizes collaboration, development, and flexible working.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering planning and consenting for major infrastructure (or ready to step up into a lead role).
• Strong understanding of Development Consent Orders (DCO) and related regimes.
• Professional accreditation (or working towards) MRTPI and/or APM, CMI, CEnv or CEng.
• Qualification in Planning or Environment, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate planning and consenting workstreams for major projects, including NSIPs under the Planning Act 2008.
• Provide planning and EIA strategy advice across DCO, TCPA and DNS.
• Progress projects through scheme development, advising on methodologies and assessments.
• Collaborate with clients, stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams to shape deliverable programmes and applications.
• Spot risks early, maintain momentum, and help teams deliver quality outcomes.
• Support and mentor colleagues, contributing to a collaborative team culture.
