Job summary

Stantec is seeking a DCO Planner at Senior/Principal/Associate level to join our infrastructure team. This role can be based from any UK office and offers the chance to influence major projects shaping the UK's future.

You will lead planning and consenting workstreams, provide EIA strategy advice, and collaborate with clients and multidisciplinary teams to deliver robust programmes. Accreditation toward MRTPI or equivalent is desirable and supported.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering planning and consenting for major infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of Development Consent Orders (DCO).
• Professional qualification in Planning or Environment.
• Credibility with clients and stakeholders; practical, solutions-focused mindset.

Responsibilities

• Leading and coordinating planning and consenting workstreams for major infrastructure projects, including NSIPs under the Planning Act 2008.
• Providing planning and EIA strategy advice and managing processes across key consenting regimes (DCO, TCPA, DNS).
• Progressing projects through scheme development, advising on methodologies and assessments.
• Working closely with clients, stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams to shape deliverable programmes and applications.
• Bringing structure to complex projects, spotting risks early and maintaining momentum.
• Supporting and mentoring colleagues and contributing to a collaborative team culture.
