Job summary

NTT DATA is hiring a senior DB2 for z/OS Systems Programmer to lead DB2 operations for a large enterprise estate. The role covers installation, upgrades, tuning, and security across multiple subsystems in a hybrid UK setting (London/Sheffield + remote).

You will collaborate with development, infrastructure, and security teams to ensure high availability and DR readiness. The ideal candidate brings extensive DB2 for z/OS experience, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work

Qualifications

• Typically 8 to 15+ years of IBM Mainframe Systems Programming with focus on DB2 for z/OS administration and support.
• Experience supporting large-scale enterprise DB2 environments with multiple subsystems.
• Proficient in DB2 installation, migration, maintenance, performance tuning and troubleshooting.
• Experience in Banking/Financial Services or mission-critical environments preferred.
• Hands-on experience with OLTP systems using CICS and DB2.
• Strong knowledge of Distributed DB2 Connectivity (DDF).
• DB2 security administration and disaster recovery concepts.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain DB2 for z/OS environments.
• Support a large-scale enterprise DB2 infrastructure with multiple subsystems.
• Plan and execute DB2 upgrades, migrations, and maintenance.
• Provide Level 2/3 support for DB2-based applications.
• Ensure DB2 availability, integrity, and performance.
• Manage DDF and distributed DB2 connectivity.
• Optimize OLTP environments with CICS and DB2.
• Monitor performance and perform tuning recommendations.
