Energy Jobline CVL seeks a Senior Data Centre Engineer at Heathrow to operate on continental day and night shifts, handling cross-connects, localised patching, racking and decommissioning within a live data centre.

The candidate should have hands-on data centre experience, cabling and equipment installation skills, and familiarity with Remedy/ServiceNow tickets, OLAs and SLAs. The role offers progression and training opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience in an operational Data Centre environment.
• Ability to plan and optimise space and cabinet utilisation.
• Familiarity with OLAs and SLAs.
• Experience mounting servers, storage, and network equipment.

Responsibilities

• Provide support for both pre-scheduled and reactive operational workflows in the Data Centre.
• Plan and optimise Data Centre space and cabinet utilisation.
• Prepare quotations aligned with standards and OLAs/OLTs.
• Mount servers, storage and network equipment in cabinets.
• Install Data Centre cabling for managed solutions and internal networks.
• Deliver pre- and post-sales support to related teams.
• Manage Remedy/ServiceNow tickets and ensure SLA compliance.
• Support governance by addressing non-compliance issues.
• Investigate incidents and implement remedies.
• Prepare accurate and timely reports.
• Ensure corrective and repair work complies with regulations.

OurclientislookingforanexperiencedSeniorDataCentreengineertoworkon ashiftbasis(ContinentalDays&Nights)tospecialiseinactivitiessuchascrossconnects,localisedpatching,rackinganddecommissioning.

Please note, only candidates who have experience of working within a Data Centre will be considered for this position.

JobDuties

• Providesupportforbothpre - scheduledandreactiveoperationalworkflowsattheDataCentreor,aspre-arranged,atotherlocations.
• PlanandoptimisetheefficientuseofDataCentrespaceandcabinetutilisationinaccordancewiththeHostingDataCentreStandards.
• PreparequotationsinalignmentwithdefinedstandardsandOperationalLevelAgreements(OLAs).
• Mountservers,storage,andnetworkequipmentincabinets,adheringtocurrentDataCentrestandards.
• InstallDataCentrecablingformanagedsolutionsandinternalnetworks,followingdesigndocumentationandutilisingcurrentcopper,fibre,andpatchpanellingstandards.
• Deliverpre-andpost-salessupporttorelevantsupportspecialists,AccountManagers,andServiceManagers.
• ManageRemedy/ServiceNowtickets,ensuringactionsarecompletedwithinagreedinternalOLAsorCustomerServiceLevelAgreements(SLA's).
• Supportgovernanceactivitiesbyaddressinganynon-complianceissuesandmanagingthemtoresolution.
• Investigateincidentsandfaults,identifyrootcauses,andimplementappropriateremedies.
• Prepareaccurateandtimelyreportsasrequired.
• Ensurecorrectiveandrepairworkcomplieswithcurrentregulations. KeyRequirements

• ExperienceworkinginanoperationalDataCentreenvironment,includingrackelevationdesignandhandlingserver,storage,andnetworkhardware.
• Skilledintheinstallationofnetworkcross-connectsandcabinetpatchingusingcopperandfibrecabling.
• Proficientintroubleshootingandresolvingfaultsinlivecustomerhostingsolutions.
