Job summary

Wigan Council’s Performance and Insight Unit is seeking a skilled Analyst to support the delivery and improvement of Education, SEND and Post-16 services. You will develop performance insight, research and BI that informs decisions affecting children, families and schools.

You’ll use SQL and Power BI to identify trends, evaluate initiatives and provide actionable insights to senior leaders and service managers, working with colleagues across Education and related services to improve data quality

Qualifications

• Experience with reporting and visualization tools such as Power BI and SQL.
• Ability to use data to tell a story and support decision making.
• Autonomy and initiative with collaborative working style.
• Experience supporting Education, SEND or similar local authority services is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of performance insight, research and BI across Education, SEND and Post-16.
• Identify trends, evaluate key initiatives and provide actionable insights to senior leaders.
• Collaborate with colleagues to understand operational challenges and improve data quality.
• Support service improvement, strategic planning and organisational transformation.
