Job summary

Wigan Council is seeking an experienced Analyst to support Education, SEND and Post-16 services with performance insight and BI. You will lead data analysis, deliver trends, and provide actionable insights to senior leaders, using SQL and Power BI to evaluate initiatives and inform decisions.

The role requires collaboration across services, data quality improvement, and the ability to translate complex data into clear stories for stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience with reporting and visualisation tools, for example Power BI and SQL.
• Ability to interpret data and tell a compelling story to non-technical stakeholders.
• Proactive with data quality and continuous improvement approaches.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of performance insight, research, evaluation and business intelligence.
• Identify trends and evaluate impact of key initiatives, providing actionable insights to senior leaders.
• Collaborate with Education, SEND and Post-16 services to improve data quality and support service improvement.
