Job summary

V.Group is seeking a Staff Chief Engineer for the cruise vessel MAGELLAN DISCOVERER. Embarkation available 01 December 2026. Contract 3 months on/off. You will assist the Chief Engineer in all technical, mechanical, electrical and environmental matters onboard.

Responsibilities include leading engine department maintenance, ensuring seaworthiness, and coordinating with safety, hotel and technical teams to meet international standards.

Qualifications

• Excellent fluent English (verbal, written, technical).

Responsibilities

• Lead the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of all engine room machinery and equipment.
• Oversee safe repair and maintenance of main propulsion and related systems.
• Ensure compliance with ISM, SOLAS, MARPOL and MLC regulations and company policies.
• Issue work permits and supervise engine department personnel.
• Maintain engine logs, oil record and associated environmental logbooks.
