Job summary

V.Group is seeking an experienced Safety Officer to join the cruise vessel MAGELLAN EXPLORER. The role covers comprehensive safety oversight for guests and crew, with strong emphasis on training, drills, and compliance with international standards.

The position requires STCW95, CoC A-II/2, a Polar Code certificate, and proven on-board cruise experience. English fluency is essential; AMOS and Office skills are expected. Contract: 4 months +/- 1 month, shipboard deployment.

Qualifications

• Valid STCW95 certification and CoC A-II/2 are required.
• Polar Code certificate is mandatory for duty on the vessel.
• Fluent English is the working language onboard and for safety communications.
• Experience on cruise vessels as a Safety Officer is essential.

Responsibilities

• Ensure vessel safety for guests and crew in line with Company policies and SOLAS.
• Lead safety training and drills and supervise crew in safety procedures.
• Maintain and inspect life-saving equipment, firefighting gear, and safety systems.
• Coordinate with Staff Captain and Master on safety matters and reporting.
