Job summary

V.Group is seeking an experienced MASTER to command the cruise vessel MAGELLAN DISCOVERER. The role is contract-based and shipboard, with embarkation dates noted for December 12 2026.

The Master will lead the deck team, oversee safety, regulatory compliance and guest safety across all shipboard operations. Fluent English, STCW and Polar Code certifications, and proven Master-level experience on expedition cruise ships are required, along with physical fitness and strong references.

Qualifications

  • Valid CoC Master unlimited A-II/2.
  • Valid STCW95 certification.
  • Certification as required by regulations for the position.
  • Experience as Captain on varied class of ships and itineraries.
  • Physically and medically fit with certification.
  • Moral integrity is required.
  • Public Health, Sanitation and Environmental certification.

Responsibilities

  • Command the overall operation, guests, crew and safety of the ship.
  • Ensure maritime protocols, environmental policies and safety regulations are followed.
  • Lead crew and supervise safety drills and procedures.
  • Maintain compliance with SMS, ISPS, SOLAS and related regulations.
