Job summary

HSBC is seeking an experienced Lead Credit Risk Analyst in the UK to shape analytics that strengthen credit decisions and portfolio outcomes across RBWM. You will deliver data-driven solutions and monitor performance at transactional and portfolio levels.

You will collaborate with stakeholders, manage offshore analytics teams, and ensure high-quality credit risk MI with clear benefits evidenced after delivery. This role emphasizes governance and impact across regulated environments.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering analytics projects within budgets and timelines.
• Deep knowledge of RBWM products and credit lifecycle.
• Expertise in statistical models and data-driven rules for credit portfolios.
• Analytic solutions for credit and business problems using credit assessment methods.
• Ability to partner with business and IT teams on strategic change programmes.
• Strong analytics capabilities and ability to translate findings to business impacts.
• Proficiency in SAS and Python for data extraction, macros, and reporting.
• Ability to present complex stats clearly to various audiences across sites.

Responsibilities

• Shape and deliver a portfolio of analytics projects, delegating effectively across analysts and offshore teams.
• Influence project planning with stakeholders and sponsors, maintaining updates and alignment.
• Prioritise planned work and manage ad-hoc requests with re-planning and expectations.
• Ensure output integrity with governance and accountability for results.
• Develop and maintain data-driven solutions supporting profit while reducing risk.
• Oversee credit risk MI and provide insightful commentary on customer/portfolio behaviour.
• Specify and conduct post-implementation reviews to evidence benefits.
• Build relationships across teams and interact with regulators and suppliers.
