Job summary

STR Group, based at our Portsmouth HQ, is seeking a Senior Credit Controller to join the Finance Team. This hands-on role focuses on debt management, cash collection and improving credit control processes while supporting the wider team.

You'll own customer accounts, chase overdue invoices and contribute to financial analysis to inform decision-making. Working across STR Group brands, you’ll manage key client relationships, produce aged debt reports and lead on credit checks, limits and

Qualifications

• Strong credit control and debt collection experience.
• Experience managing customer accounts, reconciliations and payment queries.
• Good understanding of credit risk, checks and limits.
• Strong Excel and MS Office skills.
• Excellent attention to detail with financial data.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Proactively manage and chase overdue invoices by phone and email.
• Manage key client accounts and build relationships to support timely payment.
• Accurately allocate cash, credits, and invoices to customer accounts.
• Investigate and resolve payment and account queries.
• Carry out ledger cleansing to maintain data accuracy.
• Conduct credit checks across all STR Group brands and review limits.
• Lead on credit insurance renewals and liaise with providers.
• Provide guidance to another Credit Controller and promote best practice.
