Job summary

STR Group Careers is recruiting a Senior Credit Controller to own customer accounts across STR Group, ensuring timely payments, accurate ledgers and managed credit risk. You will oversee key client relationships, perform aged debt reporting, credit checks and renewals of credit insurance, and mentor a fellow Credit Controller.

Qualifications

• Proactive, commercially aware and able to take ownership.
• Confident to have difficult conversations while maintaining professional client relationships.
• Strong credit control and debt collection experience.
• Experience managing customer accounts, reconciliations and payment queries.
• Good understanding of credit risk, credit checks and credit limits.
• Strong Excel and MS Office skills.
• Excellent attention to detail with financial data.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organisation and time management.
• Collaborative approach and willingness to support others.
• Ability to identify opportunities for process improvement.

Responsibilities

• Proactively managing and chasing overdue invoices by telephone and email.
• Managing key client accounts and building relationships to support timely payment and resolve queries.
• Allocating cash, credits and invoices to customer accounts.
• Investigating and resolving payment and account queries.
• Carrying out ledger cleansing to maintain accurate financial data.
• Conducting credit checks across STR Group brands and reviewing customer credit limits.
• Managing severely delinquent accounts and escalating for legal or debt collection action where appropriate.
• Producing aged debt reports and providing updates for senior Finance review.
• Delivering accurate financial analysis to support decision-making and credit risk management.
• Leading credit insurance renewals and liaising with insurers.
• Working across Finance to improve processes and efficiencies.
• Providing guidance to the other Credit Controller and promoting best practice.
