Job summary

STR Group Limited is seeking a Senior Credit Controller to join our Finance Team at our Portsmouth HQ. The role focuses on debt management, cash collection, and improving credit control processes, while supporting the wider team.

You will own customer accounts, perform aged debt reporting and financial analysis, conduct credit checks, and lead insurance renewals within a collaborative finance function.

Qualifications

• Proven credit control and debt collection experience.
• Experience reconciling accounts and resolving payment queries.
• Strong Excel and MS Office skills.
• Attention to detail and data accuracy.
• Ability to communicate clearly with clients and internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Proactively chase overdue invoices by phone and email.
• Manage key client accounts and build strong relationships for timely payments.
• Allocate cash, credits and invoices to customer accounts.
• Investigate and resolve payment or account queries.
• Produce aged debt reports and support senior Finance reviews.
• Lead credit insurance renewals and liaise with providers.
