Job summary

Booker is seeking an experienced Credit Controller to manage a portfolio of customer accounts within the Retail sector. You will ensure outstanding balances are proactively managed and payments are received on time, while collaborating with internal teams to maintain accurate ledgers.

The role requires strong communication, organisation and a proactive approach to problem solving, with emphasis on cash collection and risk management. This is a on-site position within our Retail Finance team.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Credit Control environment
• Strong understanding of Credit Management, Debt Recovery and Cash Collection
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Organised with ability to manage varied workload and meet deadlines
• Ability to work under pressure and take initiative

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders across branches, depots, customer services and sales teams
• Develop professional relationships with customers and provide a customer-focused service
• Proactively manage collection activity to maximise cash recovery and minimise delinquent debt
• Manage the process of failed payments and suspend trading until payment is received
• Collaborate with the Debt Collection team to recover delinquent debt
• Monitor and manage customer credit limits to minimise risk and support business needs
