Booker Group in Eccles is seeking a Credit Controller to manage a portfolio of customer accounts across the Retail sector, ensuring timely payments and proactive debt collection. You will work within a multifunctional team and collaborate with branches, customer services, and sales teams.

The role emphasizes building strong relationships, maintaining credit limits, and resolving queries while meeting deadlines.

Qualifications

• Experience in Credit Control, Debt Recovery and Cash Collection.
• Strong organisational skills with ability to manage varied workload and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills to build relationships.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders (Branch, Depot, Customer Services, Retail Sales).
• Develop relationships with customers to provide professional service.
• Proactively manage collection activity to maximise cash recovery.
• Manage failed payments and suspend trading until payment is received.
• Collaborate with Debt Collection team for delinquent debt recovery.
• Resolve customer/account queries to minimise payment delays.
• Coordinate with Sales Ledger for timely cash allocation.
• Monitor and manage customer credit limits to minimise risk.
• Produce weekly Aged Debt reports detailing overdue balances.
• Monthly ledger reviews for Credit Insurance referrals.
