Job summary

BBC Creative in London/Manchester is seeking a Senior Writer to lead and shape multi-brand campaigns across platforms. You will direct teams, develop innovative concepts, present ideas to stakeholders and ensure all work aligns with the BBC's strategic vision.

You will mentor junior creatives, craft compelling copy and art direction, and manage campaigns from brief to delivery. Flexible hybrid working arrangements are discussed at offer stage.

LOCATION: London or Manchester / Hybrid

PROPOSED SALARY RANGE £55,000 to £65,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

We are looking for senior writers to join BBC Creative, the BBC's in-house creative agency. We have a simple ambition: to produce the most creative marketing in the World for the most creative media brand in the World. Our Senior Creatives work on conceptual campaigns for a wide variety of high priority BBC products and services.

You will work across a wide range of briefs from drama launches to big music events or major sports tournaments - building the UK's most iconic brand.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:

• Take the lead on projects, directing and overseeing other Creatives as needed.
• Create and oversee complex, innovative and effective promotional campaigns, based on lateral concepts where appropriate.
• Come up with and present a number of ideas/concepts for any project.
• Work to formal/informal creative briefs, and ensure material is highly targeted and meets agreed objectives.
• Ensure that all creative work, across different platforms, is aligned with the BBC's strategic vision and find innovative ways of driving forward that vision.
• Take a pro-active role in developing and coaching others.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

You must be an outstanding Creative with proven experience of creating multi-media campaigns across a range of brands.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

Candidates must be able to demonstrate:

• Excellence in idea generation / conceptual thinking - with significant experience across a range of brands
• Outstanding copywriting and/or art direction (evidenced as below)
• Ability to create multi-media campaigns for all platforms
• Excellent pitch/presentation skills (able to influence senior stakeholders)
• Ability to develop/mentor more junior creatives

A significant body of work will need to be submitted for review.
