Job summary

Atomic Weapons Establishment is seeking a Senior Cost Engineer to drive cost efficiency across major projects within the Project Controls team. You will bring expertise in forecasting, budgeting and data-driven decision support to project teams, ensuring accurate cost performance and timely reporting.

The role requires strong analytical skills, experience with cost systems, and the ability to build trusted relationships with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Evidence of working with cost management software.
• Experience in developing effective stakeholder relationships.
• History of working in a project environment.
• General education with business/project management qualification or equivalent or proven level of experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, monitor and control forecasts and budgets for specified projects, including change control.
• Provide trend data to the Project Manager based on performance and trends with recommendations.
• Interrogate systems and performance to ascertain actual expenditure and project accruals.
• Prepare cost reports with trend analysis and early warnings.
• Perform cost engineer requirements and support related activities as needed.
• Maintain high standards in safety, quality and teamwork, and promote good data integrity.
