Job summary

AWE plc is seeking a Senior Cost Engineer to join our Project Controls team in the United Kingdom. You will provide oversight and insight to ensure cost-efficient, well-managed projects supported by high-quality data.

As a senior member, you will prepare forecasts and budgets, monitor performance, perform SPI/CPI analysis, develop the Cost Breakdown Structure, and drive recovery planning with project teams. We offer a competitive package and generous benefits including pension and leave.

Qualifications

• Prepared, monitored and controlled forecasts and budgets for specified projects, including change control.
• Provided trend data to Project Manager based on performance and emerging trends with recommendations.
• Interrogated systems to verify actual expenditure and project accruals.
• Prepared cost reports with trend analysis and early warnings.
• Maintained high standards in environment, safety, health, security and quality; team player.
• Conducted SPI/CPI variance analysis and provided narratives, recommendations, and recovery planning.

Responsibilities

• Established the Project Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS) and led cost studies using historical data.
• Developed benchmarking information to meet project needs.
• Implemented procedures and systems to ensure data quality and consistency.
• Tracked manpower productivity and time booked to projects; analyzed resource usage vs. plan and recommended actions.
• Built strong stakeholder relationships within a project environment.
