Job summary

Matchtech is seeking a Senior Cost Engineer to support reporting, forecasting and financial control for a major nuclear programme based in London with biweekly travel to Ipswich.

The role requires extensive cost management and project controls experience in large infrastructure projects, with the ability to communicate financial data clearly to multidisciplinary stakeholders and to work alongside project controls teams.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in cost engineering, cost management or project controls.
• Strong expertise in cost reporting, forecasting and budget management.
• Experience in cost assurance and project performance analysis.
• Understanding of financial reporting on major projects and complex programmes.
• Experience working alongside project controls teams.
• Ability to interpret and communicate financial data clearly to multidisciplinary stakeholders.
• Experience within nuclear, energy, rail, aviation, utilities, highways, defence or another major infrastructure sector.
• Strong analytical, organisational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Managing project cost reporting, forecasting and budget control.
• Preparing accurate financial reports and performance analysis for senior stakeholders.
• Supporting cost assurance activities and identifying financial risks, trends and opportunities.
• Monitoring expenditure against approved budgets, forecasts and project objectives.
• Working closely with project controls teams to maintain robust cost management processes.
• Providing clear cost information and insight across a large, complex programme.
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and engaging effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
