Job summary

AWE is seeking a Senior Cost Engineer to join our Project Controls team. You will provide cost oversight and data-driven insights to keep projects cost-efficient and well-managed. You will collaborate with project teams to drive informed decision-making and deliver reliable cost data.

The role combines cost forecasting, budgeting, trend analysis and reporting in a dynamic environment. Hybrid working is available, with a strong focus on safety and quality across projects.

Qualifications

• Evidence of working with cost management software.
• Experience developing effective stakeholder relationships.
• History of working in a project environment.
• General education, including a business/project management qualification or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, monitor and control forecasts and budgets for specified projects, including change control.
• Provide trend data to the Project Manager based on performance and emerging trends with recommendations.
• Investigate expenditure and project accruals; verify data as needed.
• Prepare cost reports with trend analysis and early warnings where necessary.
• Support other Cost Engineer requirements as requested.
• Promote safety, quality and teamwork in the project environment.
• Perform SPI/CPI variance analysis and provide narrative and recovery planning.
• Establish the Project Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS) and cost studies from historical data.
• Develop benchmarking information to meet specific needs.
• Implement procedures to ensure data quality and consistency.
• Track manpower productivity and advise the Project Manager.
