Job summary

Turner & Townsend in the United Kingdom seeks a Senior Cost Controller to join our Defence-focused Infrastructure-Defence team. You will lead cost control across projects, develop CBS structures, and align budgets with Work Breakdown Structures, delivering accurate reporting to support decision making.

You will collaborate with Finance, Commercial and Project Managers, provide training, and ensure NEC contract compliance. Travel to client sites across the region is required.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable experience in cost control.
• Familiarity with cost performance reporting and forecasting techniques.
• Experience leading cost control assurance activities as part of project performance cadence.
• Understanding of Earned Value Management, progress reporting, forecasting and performance reporting and analysis.
• Practical experience using MS Excel and other MS applications.

Responsibilities

• Tailor cost control approaches to meet client needs and align with best practice.
• Promote cost control benefits within the project and programme team.
• Implement, administer, and maintain cost control systems to track budgets, commitments, expenditures and forecasts.
• Develop CBS and align budgets with WBS to track actual costs.
• Map estimates to WBS and set budgets against WPs and Control Accounts.
• Maintain relationships with interfacing disciplines to ensure aligned information.
• Lead accrual production to reflect Actual Cost of Work Performed in cost data.
• Provide cost reports and analysis, supporting management decisions.
• Train and coach clients and junior team members on cost control processes.
