Job summary

Turner & Townsend is recruiting a Senior Cost Controller to join our Defence-focused Infrastructure team in Midland & North region. You will lead cost control activities, develop CBS and WBS alignment, and produce regular cost reports, working with Finance, Commercial and Project Managers.

Travel to client sites across the region will be required. A solid background in EVM, forecasting and cost reporting is essential, with the ability to coach junior staff and integrate with broader project

Qualifications

• Demonstrable Experience in Cost Control is essential.
• Familiarity with different cost performance reporting and cost forecasting techniques.
• Experience leading Cost Control Assurance activities as part of project performance cadence.
• Understanding of Earned Value Management (EVM) and progress reporting.

Responsibilities

• Tailor Cost Control approaches to meet client needs and align with best practice.
• Promote benefits and requirements of Cost Control within the project team.
• Implement and maintain cost control systems to track budgets, commitments, expenditures, and forecasts.
• Develop CBS and align budgets with WBS and control accounts.
• Map estimates to WBS and set project budgets against Work Packages and Planning Packages.
• Collaborate with Finance, Commercial and Project Managers to align project information.
• Lead accrual production to reflect Actual Cost of Work Performed.
• Provide cost reporting tools and regular cost reports with EV analysis.
• Advise on status reports and support performance management decisions.
• Train and coach clients and junior team members on cost control processes.
