Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Glasgow is seeking a Senior Control Systems Engineer to design, develop, and implement PLC-based control systems in energy sectors. You will manage complex projects, delivering reliable control systems for critical energy assets while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. Qualifications

• Strong experience in the design & programming of Siemens PLCs (e.g., TIA Portal, S7, PCS7).
• Experience delivering PLC/SCADA/DCS systems within the energy sector.
• Good understanding of control systems engineering across the full project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and test control system software for energy sector applications.
• Contribute to project delivery across all phases, from requirements definition through to commissioning.
• Produce high-quality technical documentation including functional design specifications.

Skills

Design & programming of Siemens PLCs

Delivery of PLC/SCADA/DCS systems

Understanding of control systems engineering

Knowledge of IEC 61131 programming languages

Strong problem-solving skills
