Job summary

Bury Council is seeking a construction project professional to deliver a multi-year programme across its estate. You will manage projects from early definition through planning, procurement, delivery, handover and close-out.

You will coordinate consultants, contractors and internal teams to ensure safe, high-quality, value-for-money outcomes, planning works around live services and supporting education and frontline services as required.

Qualifications

• Experience of supporting or managing construction projects through key stages of delivery.
• Collaborative and organised approach with ownership to address issues early.
• Clear written and verbal communication, building trusted relationships with stakeholders.
• Understanding of delivering works in occupied buildings and settings.
• Commitment to learning, continuous improvement and public service.

Responsibilities

• Manage a varied portfolio of construction projects from definition to close-out.
• Coordinate consultants, contractors and internal services for safe, high-quality delivery.
• Plan works around live services, minimise disruption and inform building users.
• Procure construction works within Public Sector guidelines.
• Support redevelopment and backlog maintenance priorities with Asset and Facilities teams.
• Provide practical construction advice to service departments and external partners.
