Job summary

Chap Group is seeking an Operations Manager to join our Construction division. You will report to the Construction Director and take operational ownership of live projects from inception to completion, working with site teams, engineers and the commercial function.

The role demands substantial on-site leadership, a hands-on approach to problem solving, and a proven track record delivering projects safely, on time and within budget across diverse construction methods.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in construction operations and senior site management.
• Proven track record delivering projects on time, on budget and to specification.
• Experience across a range of construction methods and project types.
• Strong knowledge of CDM, health and safety legislation and quality assurance.
• Confident communicator with site teams, designers and commercial colleagues.
• Hands-on, practical approach to resolving on-site problems.
• SMSTS and CSCS qualifications.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Oversee delivery of multiple concurrent projects, ensuring safety, programme, budget and specification.
• Lead, support and develop site management teams.
• Drive health, safety and environmental performance across sites.
• Work with the commercial team on programme, procurement and cost control.
• Maintain quality assurance and regulatory compliance.
• Build and protect relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and supply chain.
• Contribute to pre-construction and tender input when necessary.
