Job summary

United Infrastructure seeks an experienced Construction Manager to lead the safe, efficient delivery of complex infrastructure projects. Reporting to the Project Director, you will guide strategic decisions across multiple sites, ensuring on-time delivery within budget and to high quality standards.

This senior role requires strong operational expertise, commercial awareness, and the ability to build high-performing teams while maintaining excellent client relationships.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in Senior Construction Manager, Construction Manager, or Project Director roles.
• Experience delivering large-scale infrastructure, utilities, energy, civil engineering, or construction projects.
• Knowledge of construction methodologies, planning, and project delivery.
• Excellent leadership and people management skills.
• Strong commercial awareness with experience working alongside commercial teams.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead the construction delivery of multiple projects from mobilisation through to completion.
• Develop and implement construction strategies that support programme, quality, safety, and commercial objectives.
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with contractual requirements.
• Provide leadership and direction to Construction Managers, Site Managers, Engineers, and project delivery teams.
• Identify and manage project risks, implementing mitigation strategies where required.
• Champion a positive health, safety, environmental, and quality culture across all projects.
• Review project costs, forecasts, variations, and resource requirements.
• Support commercial negotiations and provide operational input into contractual matters.
• Drive efficiencies and identify opportunities to improve project performance.
• Oversee project planning and resource allocation to achieve programme milestones.
• Monitor construction progress and resolve delivery challenges proactively.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, subcontractors, and supply chain partners.
• Ensure effective communication across all project stakeholders.
• Develop strong working relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers, and internal teams.
• Represent the business at client meetings and project reviews.
• Provide regular progress updates to senior leadership.
• Support business development activities and contribute to future project opportunities.
• Lead, coach, and develop construction teams to maximise performance.
• Foster a collaborative and inclusive working environment.
• Support succession planning and talent development across the business.
