Stride Resource Management Ltd in the West Midlands is recruiting an experienced Commercial Insurance Underwriter for a hybrid field-based role. You will underwrite large, complex risks and work closely with a broker network to support profitable growth across the region.

This high-visibility role offers autonomy, opportunities to coach colleagues, and a clear path to higher underwriting authority, with a strong emphasis on technical excellence and relationship management across distribution,

Qualifications

Experience underwriting larger, more complex risks with a broker-facing approach.
ACII qualification or progression would be advantageous.
Strong customer-focused technical underwriting expertise.
Experience coaching or mentoring underwriting colleagues.

Responsibilities

Underwrite and negotiate large, complex commercial risks and portfolios.
Support regional growth plans through sound underwriting and risk selection.
Act as a technical referral point for complex cases and queries.
Coach and develop colleagues to improve underwriting capability and decision-making.
Build strong relationships across underwriting, claims and distribution teams.
Analyse portfolio performance to identify trends and drive profitable outcomes.
