Job summary

Trant Engineering Ltd in the UK is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial management across multiple high-value projects. You will monitor costs, manage subcontractor contracts, and ensure adherence to contractual obligations to keep projects on time and within budget.

The role requires knowledge of UK contract forms, strong negotiation and analytical skills, and experience handling variations and claims across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Engineering, or related discipline.
• Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor in engineering, construction, or utilities.
• Strong knowledge of UK contract forms and commercial procedures.
• Experience managing costs, variations, and claims across multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Administer contracts in accordance with company procedures.
• Support tender preparation, contracts, and budgets.
• Negotiate variations, compensation events, and change orders.
• Advise project teams on contractual obligations and commercial risks.
• Monitor budgets, expenditure, and forecasts across projects.
• Manage subcontractor contracts, payments, and variations.
• Produce cost reports, cash flow updates, and commercial summaries.
• Assist in final account preparation and submission.
