Job summary

Trant Engineering Ltd seeks a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Commercial team in the South East England. You will provide expert commercial and contract management across multiple projects, ensuring costs are controlled and projects delivered on time and within budget.

You will mentor junior staff, liaise with clients and subcontractors, and report on cash flow and risks. A degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent is essential, with proven senior experience in engineering or utilities and

Qualifications

• Degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying or related discipline.
• Proven Senior Quantity Surveyor experience in engineering, construction, or utilities.
• Strong knowledge of UK contract forms and commercial procedures.
• Experience managing costs, variations, and claims across multiple projects.
• Excellent financial, analytical, and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Administer contracts in accordance with company procedures.
• Support the preparation of tender documents, contracts, budgets.
• Support the preparation and negotiation of variations, compensation events, and change orders.
• Advise project teams on contractual obligations, commercial risks, and potential claims.
• Monitor project budgets, expenditure, and forecasts across allocated projects.
• Manage subcontractor contracts, payments, and variations.
• Produce cost reports, cash flow updates, and commercial summaries for project and senior management.
• Assist in final account preparation and submission.
