Job summary

Trant Engineering Ltd, a leading EPC contractor, is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join our Commercial team in the South East of England. You will support cost control, contract administration and commercial reporting across complex projects, ensuring on-budget delivery and value for clients.

Reporting to the Senior / Managing Quantity Surveyor, you’ll work with project teams, subs and finance colleagues, applying NEC4 knowledge and robust governance to keep projects profitable and compliant.

Qualifications

• Degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Engineering, or related discipline.
• Experience as a Quantity Surveyor in engineering, construction, or utilities projects.
• Knowledge of UK contract forms; NEC4.
• Experience in cost control, subcontractor management, and variation administration.
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Appropriate IT skills, specifically Excel, with the ability to facilitate the use of formulas and pivot tables.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities across projects and sites.

Responsibilities

• Assist in administration of contracts, pricing and forecasting costs.
• Involvement in preparation of tender documents, contracts, budgets and bills of quantities.
• Support the preparation and management of variations, compensation events, and change orders.
• Provide guidance to project teams on contractual obligations and commercial procedures. Tracking changes to design and or construction works and adjust budget projections accordingly.
• Production of subcontract procurement schedule. Administer subcontractor contracts, applications for payment, and variations.
• Assist with cost reporting, forecasts, and cash flow updates for work in progress and end cost forecasting.
• Support final account preparation and submission.
