Smart4EPC, assisting our client on a major infrastructure project in London, is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager/Managing Quantity Surveyor. The role oversees cost management and contract administration from initiation to close-out on a Tier 1 infrastructure program in London.

The ideal candidate has extensive NEC contract experience, proven change management, and the ability to lead a commercial team while engaging senior stakeholders.

Competenze

• Strong knowledge of all aspects of commercial management.
• Familiarity with various forms of contract.
• Experience on major (£100m+) projects and Joint Venture arrangements.
• Formal qualification (RICS/CIOB or similar) with relevant experience.
• Ideally experience in design, design-and-build, and package management.

Mansioni

• Oversee cost management and contract management from initiation through close-out.
• Issue and manage notices, early warnings, compensation events, and change management processes.
• Interpret contract clauses and advise project teams to ensure NEC compliance.
• Manage high-value packages with significant change, maintaining robust change control and forecasts.
• Control costs for consultants and subcontractors, align with budgets and forecasts.
• Scrutinise cost/change submissions and validate valuations for accuracy.
• Maintain EWN and risk registers, quantify risk exposure, and support mitigation.
• Identify and manage commercial risks, including change-related risks.
• Communicate risks clearly and reflect them in forecasts and decisions.
• Influence design teams, project managers, and subcontractors to drive commercial discipline.
• Lead and develop the commercial team.
