Job summary

WSP is seeking a Commercial Lead for Defence and Security in the UK. You will provide strategic commercial leadership across complex infrastructure programmes, balancing client requirements with delivery cost and schedule.

The role requires senior interface skills with clients and internal leadership across multi-disciplinary teams. Responsibilities include ensuring robust commercial controls, guiding bid development, and shaping future talent in a dynamic, global firm.

Qualifications

• Proven commercial and project leadership across complex Defence/Security programmes.
• Experience with NEC4 contracts and related tools.
• Ability to coach and guide leadership on commercial tools and practices.
• Strong stakeholder relationship-building across multi-disciplinary teams.
• Track record of work winning and business development in large programmes.

Responsibilities

• Provide commercial leadership across a diverse portfolio of complex infrastructure projects from feasibility to delivery.
• Act as senior interface with clients, building long-term trusted relationships.
• Collaborate with Defence and Security leadership to plan resource and delivery.
• Support recruitment and development of future commercial talent.
• Lead with clear direction, balancing client needs, costs and programme targets.
• Contribute to major bids and identify future opportunities.
