Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland is seeking a Commercial Lead to provide commercial leadership across a portfolio of complex infrastructure projects. You will engage with multi-disciplinary teams and act as a senior interface with clients on major programmes, initially in the North West of England and expanding across the UK.

The role focuses on embedding a culture of commercial excellence, balancing client needs, people priorities and strong operational performance, while supporting bids and business

Qualifications

• Relevant professional qualifications with strong commercial and contract management expertise.
• Experience providing commercial and project leadership across complex Defence and Security projects.
• Experience managing multi-disciplinary engineering projects and programmes with an inclusive leadership style.

Responsibilities

• Bring extensive commercial experience across complex infrastructure projects, from initial feasibility through delivery and operations.
• Act as a senior leader and trusted advisor, building strong client relationships grounded in credibility.
• Work with Defence and Security and WSP leadership to ensure projects are well planned and resourced for successful delivery.
• Anticipate future resource needs and support recruitment of required skills.
• Demonstrate commitment to people development and growth of future commercial leaders.
• Lead with energy to address complex commercial challenges and provide strategic direction.
• Champion robust systems to ensure value for money and meet client objectives and programme targets.
• Support major bids and engage with clients on opportunities and wider business initiatives.
