Job summary

Brown & Brown, Inc. in Ipswich/Martlesham is seeking an experienced commercial insurance claims handler to join our lively teams.

You will manage a caseload from notification through settlement, liaising with clients and insurers, and ensuring accurate records and timely updates to Directors/Account Executives/Handlers. With at least five years in a claims environment and broker experience preferred, you will handle cross-claim work including motor, property, transit and liability, while

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years working in a claims environment.
• Broker experience preferred but insurer experience considered.
• Cross-claims handling experience including motor, property, transit and liability.
• Excellent understanding of insurance claims, products and wordings.

Responsibilities

• Handle claims allocated, including creation of records and claim files; chase clients and insurers for documents; pursue claims to satisfactory conclusion.
• Appoint Loss Adjusters/Engineers where appropriate and negotiate settlements with insurers.
• Issue settlement cheques for applicable claims and maintain accurate records.
• Produce statistics and information for Directors/Account Executives/Handlers on claims for clients.
• Attend client meetings and ensure compliance with FCA requirements and Company procedures.
