Job summary

AMETEK is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist/Programmer for its UK Machine Shop. The role involves programming, setting and operating CNC turning and milling machines to produce high-precision components according to engineering drawings and customer specifications.

Responsibilities

• Program, set and operate CNC turning, milling and mill-turn machines to manufacture high-precision components in accordance with engineering drawings and customer specifications.
• Produce components to tight tolerances and exacting quality standards, ensuring on-time delivery to agreed production schedules.
• Prepare, set up and maintain CNC machines in accordance with established procedures, work instructions and machine specifications.
• Select, install and adjust tooling as required, making precise offsets and machine adjustments to achieve dimensional accuracy.
• Interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications and manufacturing documentation to ensure components are produced correctly and efficiently.
• Utilise ISO programming principles to create, modify and optimise CNC milling and turning programs for production requirements.
• Conduct in-process and final inspection of components using measuring equipment including micrometers and CMM, ensuring compliance with specification.
