Job summary

AMETEK Inc. in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist/Programmer to join our Machine Shop.

You will program, set and operate turning and milling machines to manufacture high-precision components in line with engineering drawings and customer specifications. The role requires proven experience in precision engineering, strong Mazak CNC knowledge, and a proactive, detail-oriented approach to meet tight tolerances.

Qualifications

• 5 years in a similar CNC role or equivalent experience.
• Proven ability to program, set and operate CNC turning and milling machines.
• Experience with Mazak CNC machines and precision measurement.

Responsibilities

• Program, set and operate CNC turning, milling and mill-turn machines to manufacture high-precision components from drawings.
• Produce parts to tight tolerances and ensure on-time delivery per production schedules.
• Prepare, set up and maintain CNC machines following procedures and tooling specs.
• Interpret drawings and specifications to ensure correct, efficient production.
• Utilise ISO programming to create/modify CNC programs for production needs.
• Conduct in-process and final inspection using micrometers, verniers, bore gauges, height gauges and CMM.
• Collaborate with Cell Leaders, Planning, Quality and Engineering to hit targets and drive improvements.
• Identify opportunities to improve machine utilisation, cycle times and tooling performance.
